Ramadan Appeal

Assalaamu ‘Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaathuh

Dear Friends of Cambridge Islamic College,

MAGINE when the khateeb addressing the weekly congregation at the London Central Mosque is also a Cambridge graduate and world-renowned neurosurgeon.

IMAGINE when the ‘alimah who everyone turns to for advice and rulings in Birmingham is also a leading Oxford-educated constitutional lawyer.

IMAGINE yourself, your son, your daughter or another member of your community being highly qualified and respected as both a professional and an Islamic scholar at the same time.

Welcome to Cambridge Islamic College

Our future is the future of our children and grandchildren. For a long time, Muslims have been making a division between ‘secular’ and ‘religious’ – with mutual disrespect for each other. This has made Muslims weak and young minds confused. Cambridge Islamic College aims to remove this division, integrate education and bring back the strength and the respect the Muslims had when they were firmly grounded in religious conviction while at the same time contributing to the whole society with their professional skills and training in science, technology, arts and commerce.

Ramadan appeal to support Islamic scholarship in the heart of world intellectual capital, Cambridge

Alhamdulillah we are on course to starting our unique residential degree programme in September. For this purpose, we managed to acquire two properties in central Cambridge worth £2 million – the former Methodist Church for CIC campus and adjoining 10-room house for women’s hostel. In order to purchase these properties we had to acquire a considerable amount in loans from various individuals and organisations. We ask your generous support to help us repay these loans and start our degree programme. CIC can accept both Sadaqah and Zakah for this purpose.

“Lend unto Allah a goodly loan. Whatever good you shall forward on your behalf you shall find it with Allah, as better and richer in reward.” [Quran 73: 20]

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Allah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’” [Bukhari]
